What is a Trichologist? A Trichologist is a para-professional specializing in the study hair, scalp. Specifically hair loss and scalp disorders/disease and the treatments that are used to aid in repair. Although we are not doctors, we have the ability to advise, recommend and treat hair and scalp issues.
Why would I need to see a Trichologist? As a Trichologist (Cosmetologist), I see many clients that suffer or have suffered from reversible hair loss and scalp damage. Being a licensed Cosmetologist, certified Trichologist and Holistic Autoimmune Nutritionist, I am able to view hair loss and scalp conditions from a larger scope. This allows for me to place value on the entire body. Nutrition to support how the body functions to maintain optimal health. Trichology to provide treatments topically to address any hair loss and scalp malfunction. Cosmetology to bring it all together keeping the integrity and esteem of each client at the forefront of the process. If you are experiencing hair loss, scalp issues or need a look into nutritional health to support hair and scalp health, DO NOT DELAY, schedule your discovery call today!
How much are treatment plans? Treatment plans are determined by a few things. Once a full consultation has been conducted (virtually or in-person), I will go over what was discussed to determine what treatment plan is the right fit. We ask for permission to share your information with your primary, dermatologist, nurse practitioner, etc. We also ask for consent for media release or second opinions in some cases.
How does Trichology and Nutrition work together? "Trichology and nutrition are related because nutrition can have a big impact on how hair looks and feels. Hair is sensitive to internal changes in the body, and nutritional deficiencies can cause hair loss, stunted growth, and changes in texture and structure. Trichologists can help patients identify risk factors for nutritional deficiencies, such as age, malnutrition, malabsorption, and medication use. They can also recommend treatments, such as dietary changes or supplements, to help improve hair health." Source: NCBI

What is the role of a Hormonal Holistic Trichologist? In a nutshell, addressing the health of the body from a holistic approach. Bottom line is "we are what we consume". This plays a factor in the health of the hair and scalp. Women deal with so many hormonal issues and depending on the reasons, it can cause hair loss and an unhealthy scalp. Since becoming a Trichologist, I noticed most of my clients hair loss was due to the health/condition of their bodies and environment. This led me to holistic nutrition with an emphasis on autoimmune health. I've seen clients that were misdiagnosed, experiencing pre and postpartum hair loss, excessive shedding, cancer, autoimmune diseases, etc. Taking a look at my clients health history, genetics, environment, hair care routine, climates, diet, and much more, helps me offer a well rounded plan to ensure optimal health.
What is the difference in a Trichology plan and Nutrition Plan? A Trichology plan includes a 12 week weekly treatment for the hair and scalp issues discussed in the consultation, nutrition plan, supplements, products, 4 body scans, 3 day supply of cold pressed juices and 3 day detox plan. Nutrition plan does not include any treatment for the hair or scalp. It is a 8 weeks monitored plan including 3 body scans, supplement recommendations, 7 day body cleanse/detox plan and 7 day supply of cold pressed juices to aid in detoxing the body.
Do you offer medical grade units (cranial prosthetic/wig)? Yes I do. Offering a wide variety of hair restoration solutions is what I pride myself in providing. I offer customized units, ready to wear units, as well as maintenance for units. Book a consultation right on our Emerging Room page. *I do not accept insurance for units at this time. If your insurance covers DME, please follow their recommendations on coverage for the unit.
